Daily Routine
I try and keep to a routine with the children, attending the same toddler groups or activity sessions, on a weekly or fortnightly basis. However I am flexible and could be known to spend a lovely day at the farm instead of at an indoor group.
I like to make use of the local attractions, such as Finkley Down Farm, Charlton and Anton lakes, we also like to visit different outdoor play parks and indoor soft play areas. Marwell Zoological Park is also another one of our favourite days out depending on time available. I also love taking the children out and about exploring and learning in a greater variety of environments, including places such as Moors Valley Country Park, and the local National Trust grounds.
Activities are planned around the children and their interests, and therefore can change frequently, but will usually involve a variety of craft, messy play, indoor/outdoor exploration and play.
I also work closely with another childminder which allows for more interaction and familiarity with others. I am an active member of the ACMA (Andover Childminders Association) and take part in their organised activities and toddler groups allowing the children a chance to interact with more children of mixed ages and backgrounds.
COVID restrictions have mean that I have not been able to get out and about like I used to, so I am currently planning activities around staying at home and in the garden, as well as around the immediate area making use of Anton Lakes and the surrounding area. The house and toys are cleaned routinely during the week and thoroughly cleaned at the end of the week. As things start to open up again I will return to normal routines as quickly as I feel it is safe to do so for myself and the children in my car.

Meal Routines
Lunch is currently around 12 o'clock, to enable us to work around the sleep routines of some children.
Morning snacks are usually fruit, afternoon snack is usually a slice for fruit toast, pancake, malt loaf or similar.
I do not supply meals but am happy to reheat any meal that is provided by the parents. I would ask for a cold lunch to enable us to go out and about and have a picnic if the weather is nice.
